“…The discipline currently enjoys a reputation as one of the preeminent providers of finance education in the Asia Pacific region and is consistently ranked by QS rankings in the top 20 in the world. We have strong programs for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. We are also a leading research discipline with a large PhD program.
The Finance Discipline was established in 1994 and we are part of Australia’s oldest university. However, our historic links go back to the 1600s. One of our professors is also a fellow of Trinity College Cambridge, where he has Isaac Newton’s rooms. As well as being a great scientist Newton was involved in finance as he was Master of the Royal Mint.
Our courses prepare students for many different careers in finance. Career paths include work in financial markets, funds management, investment and retail banking, financial management, corporate treasury, financial regulation and academia. Our graduates are sought after by blue chip companies and some of the premier investment banks, fund managers and securities brokers in the world.
Discipline members actively engage with industry and we are a CFA® Program Partner. The discipline's leadership in teaching and research, and our ties with the local and international business community will ensure that the time you invest in your education is a sound investment in your future."
